  • Hello all !

Okay so I made my app in construct 2 and it works perfectly until I exported it to windows 8. I come up with two issues.

    1) The frame rate varies a lot. When I was developing the app in construct 2, it was running smoothly but when I run it as a Windows 8 app everything moves so slowly. Here is a snapshot:

    <img src="https://www.dropbox.com/s/xizz2xpguf8hask/Slow_ScreenShot.png" border="0" /> (https://www.dropbox.com/s/xizz2xpguf8hask/Slow_ScreenShot.png)

And here is what it should look like and what it looks like in construct 2: <img src="https://www.dropbox.com/s/9y6mo2dl339toji/Orignal_ScreenShot.png" border="0" /> (https://www.dropbox.com/s/9y6mo2dl339toji/Orignal_ScreenShot.png)

    2) Secondly if you compare the 2 pictures you can see that the background color varies too. In construct 2 the grey color looks different and as a Windows 8 app it looks different (and weird) !!

So any suggestions and/or solutions please ?

    Thank you <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I'm having the same issues. I get the frame rate back up to a tolerable level by removing stuff from my game. I've played Windows 8 games made with Construct 2 and they run fine. Does anyone know the specifics on what causes frame rate drop in W8 apps?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Export as an HTML5 website and test in IE10 on Windows 8. If the performance is the same as the app, then it's just because IE isn't as fast as other browsers and you'll need to optimise your game. If it's a lot faster in IE than as an app then something's going wrong.

Make sure you're not checking performance while deployed from Visual Studio - run it from the tile on the start screen.
