A collection of native american themed game character sprites for creating 2D side scrolling games
  • Yup, and there doesn't seem to be anything relevant. I can provide the .capx to the devs.

  • Hmm, i don't get this..

Is the CocoonJs thingy just a launcher/optimiser or if you upload your file do you get a .apk that you can use to submit to google play ?

And are the iOS thingy coming too ?

    Cheers !!

  • What I want to know, is do they force you to use their launcher, or can you have a native-like experience?

  • This is really cool, but does that mean all the 3rd party plugins need to be recoded? Since it converts to native code I can't imagine everything will work without problems and what about saving does it need a new save method other than webstorage?

  • Just to answer some points:

    • this is an early release, Ludei are actively making improvements and we'll be testing it further to ensure the integration works smoothly. If your app does not work now hopefully it will be fixed soon.
    • you currently cannot make an APK from CocoonJS, but they're working on a build service to add that.
    • in theory, 3rd party plugins should work unmodified in CocoonJS. In practice, not all of a browser is simulated in CocoonJS, so some 3rd party plugins will be broken or need changes.
  • Ashley: are you planning an android-export out of construct2 for the future? this would be really amazing!

  • Thanks for the reply Ashley.

  • I'm also getting a black screen in my projects. For anyone that got it to work, could you post the capx that worked? I can't seem to find what works and what doesn't.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Me too, but i think we should to wait until they are done and will release r90.

  • Here's a link to my test app.... no touch and acceleremoter input (so nothing funny to do... <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle"> ), some weirdness in tiledbackgrounds position, no sound and poor framerate (1-2 fps less than phonegap on my phone)... but, hey... something is displaying and moving!

    Can't post capx at the moment... <img src="smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0" align="middle">

    P.S.

In the CocoonJS debug console I get three warnings.

    • Not implemented window addEventListener: devicemotion
    • Not implemented window addEventListener: deviceorientation
    • Not found getElementById: c2canvasdiv
  • With the few tests that I have been able to do using Cocoonjs, I have gotten some really good results, but I have also gotten 'no touch' issues (as others have reported). I was able to get 'touch -> is touching object' to work just fine (ie on screen controls) but I cannot get 'touch -> is in touch' to work (ie touch anywhere on the screen, etc). I have setup that works great with an HTML5 export, so I know it is something to do with cocoonjs.

Besides that, the success I have had so far is very encouraging, and I cannot wait for these issues to be ironed out. Construct2 and Cocoon FTW! :)
