    We don't want to discuss our strategy for pursuing illegal users of Construct 2, because doing so would aid those trying to use Construct 2 illegally. If anyone uses Construct 2 illegally, we have the right to take legal action against them.

    C2's fantastic support, excellent community and insanely low price make it a product that cannot be justifiably pirated; any attempt to do so would be by a greedy, morally defective individual.

    +1 Numerous people (including Ashley!) have articulately described how Scirra minimizes the impact/purpose of piracy, and we've even had a mention of a specific method some companies, not necessarily Scirra, would use to identify pirates. Ashley has been pretty clear that he doesn't plan to discuss Scirra's exact methods or pending actions.

    With that being understood, brushing aside the community's response to this thread and pressing for information which is contrary to Scirra's business interests winds up sharing some trollish qualities.

You can stand on my point and see that more weirder will be not to use the chance to ask experienced man about his experience if it can improve my business.

    You get the distinct impression that dimakoles is using a pirated version and wants to make money from his creations but is worried he'll end up in legal trouble.

    From the replies he's highlighted it would be logical to assume he intends to pay the licence fee if he's successful, but it doesn't work like that; you will be much more likely to create a great product if you've invested more than just time.

I'm worried about my business model in relation to my game engine. And try to ask creator of popular game engine about his experience for learning by examples.

    The game engine is C2, it would be much easier for someone to "pirate" your game engine by just looking at it and reverse engineering it, and there's no protection against that.

    If you have experience in making popular game engine like C2 and have some examples relative to piracy to learn than you are welcome. Otherwise it's better not to flood.

    I think people are getting confused by your questions, lets be clear, are you worried about legal action if you release a game with a snide version of C2? or are you releasing a "game engine" and looking for professional advice, on how to protect said engine from people ripping you off?...

    Ah what a fool I've been! I see now what you're on about, you've made a similar program to C2 and want to know how Scirra handle piracy!

    I got confused as many members here use the term game engine to refer to the event sheets that power their games.

    In regards to your own engine, piracy is a fact of software development, just run with it, in some cases piracy can lead to conversion, but you should put your efforts into making a product that encourages people to buy it, not one that prevents people from pirating it.
