When I try to run layout in the last beta version R186 I get the next error:

  • I just got the exact same error - prototype of the game that earlier ran well (r185) no longer runs with this release of Construct2 (r186). My system configuration is the same as yours, so you just saved my time for typing this bug report - thanks

To make things worse for me, I don't know how I can revert back to r185, since I have bought the full personal edition on Steam... does anyone know how to revert to older version of Construct2 on Steam? =/

  • I revert back to R185 and runs like a charm.

striimix, unfortunately I don't know how to revert back to r185 with Steam version of Construct 2, sorry.

  • Here's a link to a .capx on which this problem occurs, in order for others to replicate.

It's a real bummer indeed that I got the steam version, now my game project has to be on hold =/ and I'm a bit on a hurry on it I should have thought twice before putting on the automatic beta updates, didn't realize there's no way to revert the version on steam.

  • Getting the same message, then this:

Assertion failure: Unknown parameter type: undefinedStack trace: Error at Error (native) at assert2 (http://localhost:50000/preview_prelude.js:16:10) at new Parameter (http://localhost:50000/eveng.js:1981:47) at new Condition (http://localhost:50000/eveng.js:1192:17) at new EventBlock (http://localhost:50000/eveng.js:555:14) at EventSheet.init_event (http://localhost:50000/eveng.js:117:16) at new EventSheet (http://localhost:50000/eveng.js:103:9) at Runtime.load (http://localhost:50000/preview.js:1380:16) at new Runtime (http://localhost:50000/preview.js:317:8) at Object.cr.createRuntime (http://localhost:50000/preview.js:5367:10)Subsequent failures will now be logged to the console.

I am so stuck, and rolling back is not working either

what was the previous version 185 beta?, I need it. how to download it plz

my project can not run on 184 and it is bugged in 186

    EDIT:

Kyatric gave me the solution, edit your project file with 185 version instead of 184

    <saved-with-version>18500</saved-with-version>

  • Ashley I got the same issue too.

In the mean time, I'll go back to running R185. Thanks for such a great program.

  • V4lv1k I am getting the same bug.

If you are running on Steam, you can revert but right clicking on Construct 2, properties, and deselect Beta. Then the latest stable release will be downloaded and installed (R184 I think). Problem is you will most likely have be running r185, so your files will not load without a hack.

Hope there is a fix tomorrow!

    Thanks everyone.

  • Im having the same issue

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Yeah, same here.

  • Having the error too.

  • same here

  • Sorry about this, botched something in this update. Should have a .2 update out to fix it tomorrow. Don't forget you're opting in to this kind of thing occasionally if you choose to use beta releases!

  • Having the same issue. But no problem Ashley Thanks for fixing it so fast. It's really appreciated.
