    Questions:-

1)Does it support CocoonJS, Ejecta, Crosswalk ?

    2)Minify enable supported ?

3)What 3d software models can we use ? Blender, Maya etc ?

4)Able to trigger sound from the event like Spriter ?

Can you put extensive tutorial and documentation on your site , especially to help Construct 2 user (including me) from 2D gaming to 3D gaming.

  • 1) i haven't tested it with any of those

    2) not yet

    3) you can import .obj files as well as .js files exported in three.js JSON format

    4) this plugin doesn't handle animation yet, it draws 3D graphics and you do the rest.

Documentation will come slowly, i'd like to have extensive documentation but i'm the only one working on this so i have to do work adding features etc at the same time, i'll aim to release new examples every few days.

  • I've been working on the edittime sub-plugin that will allow you to manipulate objects like regular sprites, apply behaviours etc.

    it looks like this atm:

    any suggestions?

  • looks great!

do you have an eta on the sub-plugin?

  • Great news!

I think that ultimate solution would be for user to be able to select and dedicate one layer for this plugin.

Where he make his 3D world.

And that he can set underneath and above some layers that might be used for lets say... paralaxed background (if wanted so) or nav mesh perhaps and for GUI elements.

have a look at this example:

    https://dl.dropbox.com/u/148996943/top3 ... ed%29.capx

This would be a 3D top/down world example for RPG, RTS etc.

And since i cant find proper sample let us use our imagination and look at this same exmaple but as a platformer.

so that green gras is actualy horizon and houses are boxes on wich player can jump etc.

This would be 2 world examples that shoud be like preset to chose from regarding on game that were building (and physics is oriented acordingly).

    so 3 presets:

1: top/down (if i use this preset... i just drag/drop obj. into layout and it is oriented in that manner that its top is facing me)... (i see the roof of building)

2: platformer (if i use this preset... i just drag/drop obj. into layout and it is oriented in that manner that its top is facing up)... (i see the side of building)

    and maybe

3: FPS/drive sim. (like your demo tanks where i can roam free)

    Hope im not tooo complicated? <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink">

    Cheers!

    Great work

I can't wait to see 3D games made with Construct 2. When your plugin is a little more polished It would be great to add 3D elements in 2D games (I know that you can also make fully 3D games).

Here is an older suggestion made by me, maybe it will give you some ideas :

    [Suggestion] Simple 3D objects

  • yes... great example for what i had in mind as 2dn preset: platformer... <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

maybe this can be usefull to look into?

    eh, maybe in a week

  • Nice progress!

About the animation, you may add design pattern about THREE.AnimationHandler in Properties. The parameters are in the following order: the mesh to animate, the animation name in the model and interpolation type. It's up to your experiment about animation.

  • Holy sh*t.. Impressive work here. True 3D for Construct 2 now.

  • Oh wow, that's cool as! Would you be able to do like camera rotation with the middle mouse button or whatever? A future amazing thing like newt pointed out, would be oculus rift rendering

Not in the editor, the SDK doesn't give me very much control over how things will work in the editor, so drawing wireframes/simple faces from a fixed orthographic view is all i can really do.

  • Can you do like one of those spinning camera cube control things ("view cube"?) that some of the 3D programs have, when you spin the cube it changes the camera angle in the editor? Or is that again something you can't really do with the C2 editor?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • C2 editor doesn't do anything for 3D, but browser with debug it would be own 3D editor to adjust the variables
