  • Sorry, but I don't see it happen officially too soon, especially with Unity support.

But there is still a chance with 3rd party plugins: gbatemp.net/threads/brew-js-make-homebrew-apps-with-javascript.504327

  • Don´t get your hopes up.

I mean it might just become big in the future like "itch", right now it's like anyone can upload anything and that makes it tough to take Scirra Arcade seriously.

I can agree that 90% of the games in Arcade are garbage.

Scirra have just hired a new web developer, who will rebuild/upgrade the functionality of the arcade. So hopefully they can just delete some of all crap

It would be good idea to have a "premium" section, with only games rated higher then 4,5 stars or something, or classified as "quality"-game by some scirra admin

switch has a constructed in net browser. So it's far feasible to play online games right now, html5, via the built in browser. it works.

however the support isn't official, yet.

final I study on html5gamedevs from Nintendo is:

"HTML5/JavaScript improvement isn't supported on the switch, and we don't have any plans to help it in the future. We make an apology for the inconvenience."

Edit: simply now it seems that Nintendo now appears to have constrained the get entry to of the web browser to just fb/Twitter, so I do not understand if it's far still viable to access different sites. (I do now not very own a

My point was they need to start seeing a lot of popular, high quality games in HTML/JS to be convinced it is worthwhile for them to do so.

Also it would definitely have to be some sort of custom secure closed implementation as they need to keep the whole browser side of things closed down for games . because if you can use your switch to play high quality games in the browser then why would you bother spending money in the Nintendo store.

  • Just an interesting note: They released a youtube application that appears to be using webkit/chromium.

I read about this as well. Is this good news, does it mean anything at all? Ashley Switch support would 100% bring me back to C3.
