10 turrets rendered in 3D with top down and menu views. Three upgrade levels per tower.
• Hi everyone,

I am creating a Tower Defence game and I am trying to stop the towers from rotating. However, when I turn off the 'rotate' option, the towers do not acquire and shoot the targets. I have searched the forum but am unable to find anything that's similar. Does anyone know how to stop the towers from rotating while shooting targets?

• Try Construct 3

• Pretty sure the turrets are programmed to shoot once there alignment vector hits the target, if it cant rotate than it has to wait for the target to roam in front of its vector.

If its not shooting even then i would try slowing the target down a lot and see if it works.

• I thought the whole point of turrets would be to rotate?

Wouldn't it be much easier to make a static sprite that spawns a bullet when certain conditions are met?

Well if you have a turret and they have some way to get damaged, it would be possible if damaged enough, the ability to rotate could be hindered.. this is all just speculation however...

• Nvenom, if that is what the topicstarter is trying to accomplish, I'd still recommend destroying the turret at that time and replacing it with a sprite that spawns bullets.. (much better way in my opinion to get the turret going crazy effect as well)

• Hey everyone, thanks for your suggestions! I decided instead of trying to stop the turrets from rotating, I made them invisible and added a sprite on top of each turret. It works just fine.
