Is there any reason, in Chrome, for a game to get better fps when the layout is scaled up, rather than its regular scale?
If so why would that make sense?
Do you mean:
"320x240 scaled up to 1920x1080 performs better than rendering to 1920x1080 directly" or
"320x240 scaled up to 1920x1080 performs better than 320x240 at non-fullscreen with black bars"?

I only tested cropped.
Hm. That's interesting. Just for the record: what are your hardware specs?
Just tested there is a marked improvement on all screens including non full-screen
My pc is a little outdated, but its usually the perfect test for C2 stuff.

i think its because crop renders based on the browser 1:1 view and is often much larger than the gamelayout. vs scaled renders the game layout size and then fits it to the browser, it could also be that high quality and low quality make a big difference in scaled mode, but not in cropmode
