Casino? money? who knows? but the target is the same!
  • I have been a game developer on C2 since January, running Tallstory Studios- https://twitter.com/Kenthria_Gaming.

Construct 2 is a great and easy/quick to use system, but how great would it be to extend that to mobile. Frequently I am out at the park or waiting for friends and I get an idea of how to solve an issue i've had for days, but I don't carry my laptop outside to edit the code. How amazing would it be to take out your tablet, open a Construct 2 app, and edit your events sheet.

Initially i'm thinking really simple- just event sheet editing. However if a layout editor could be included the app will be even more of a hit. I'd pay for such an app. So you would open the app, open your game file, then see tabs with event sheets and be able to change things on them. Maybe people can test the game on tablet from it too; its a huge selling feature to bring people into C2. Files could stream over from cloud, so you save the project on cloud on laptop, and can open the file on tablet.

    What do you think?

  • Interesting

  • Do you think you could be genuinely productive with a touch interface?

  • yes i can, and all programs will go there in the future, the thing is, such a program must re-invent how such interaction should optimal work, elimate every redundant click, use smart listing and smart input, + we need extra touchmodifiers on the device or on the screen to expand touch expressions

just an example, if al recent typed functions, favorite expressions or most used events would appear in a touch menu, this changes things a lot,

if someone would just press, every seconds, and the needed events are listed ready to fill in... without needing anything else,

yes, .. i would love to work on such system actually...

and further along, think about hologram or what i call the trackingdisplay, you will be able to be productive on any surface you choose, a table surface, a piece of paper, your wall, ... its all coming with VR

  • Yeh totally! A touch interface would be great. Its easy to drag and drop, and perfect to use menus and such like the drop downs. It would speed up the game programming progress.

For example today i added animations into a sprite, but had to go out. If i had my tablet then while out i could rig up the animations on how runstart leads to runmiddle and cycles etc, for me to fully check when i get back.

  • Honestly, I don't think I could be productive on anything smaller than a tablet. A phone seems too cramped to me.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • i will buy it

  • It would be useful to fix that problem that you have for days and find a solution when you are'nt in your PC, but to do all the game in the touch screen would'nt be worth, the computer is better, but it's a good idea.

  • Amazon Echo just added an sdk.

Maybe you could use that for development as well.

Alexa: give me a js gui to track the enemies isp

Yes. I guess if you just need to do a small fix, a cell phone interface would be handy.

  • It would be cool. But the thing is will people with the free version be able to use such app? And how much would the app cost is my question.
