Okay, so I'm trying to create a metroidvaniaish game, but I'm having trouble with transitioning from room to room.
To be more specific, on room transition if the player is jumping, when they enter the next room they stop moving and you have to kinda tap the key for the direction you're moving in to unfreeze the player. Needless to say, this is somewhat aggravating.
(Also, I'd rather like for the player to enter a room jumping if he left the previous room jumping, but I flat out haven't the faintest idea as to how to do that.)
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here has any advice on how to get that working.
Also, please feel free critique what little else I currently have in the game, as I'm at least 80% certain I've got it set up in an incredibly inefficient manner, but I can't think of any better way to do it.
